Geographical Area

Presently BDKS activities are spread over about 240 villages through 21 sub-centres of BDKS in 5 districts of Bastar division and Koraput district in Odisha state. The total population covered is approximately 10,440 households with a total of 46,776 population.

Priority Groups

Tribals and Dalits and other weaker sections such as Women, Children and youth, landless, marginal and small farmers and Persons with disabilities constitute the target population.

Organizational Credibility

BDKS has been working in the Bastar division in Chhattisgarh state for the last 45 years, enjoys a good reputation and has funding from several international and national agencies for different projects. Presently BDKS has a total staff of 35 full-time (Men – 16 & women – 19) and 15 (men-6 + women – 9) village-level volunteers. All the staff members are experienced and committed to the development of the target community. BDKS has set up a very efficient and decentralized management system. It has developed its HR policy, Child Protection policy, Gender and Finance policies etc., and is put into practice within the organization and its operational areas.
